As florists, we have the privilege of being a part of countless love stories, each unique and special in its own way. However, Lauren and Scott's wedding at B.R. Cohn Winery in Sonoma last October was truly something magical. Set against the backdrop of a warm and sunny fall day, their black-tie affair exuded whimsy, romance, and organic charm, captivating all who attended.
From the outset, Lauren and Scott, both native Texans, envisioned a celebration that merged the sophistication of a formal affair with the natural beauty of the vineyard setting. They wanted their guests to experience the magic of California's wine country while infusing the celebration with elements that reflected their refined style and southern hospitality. With 100 of their nearest and dearest traveling to celebrate, the couple fell head over heels for B.R. Cohn's breathtaking vineyard views and rustic charm—a perfect backdrop for their dream wedding.
As floral artisans, we were entrusted with bringing their vision to life, weaving whimsy and elegance into every bloom.
The floral design played a central role in bringing their vision to life. With a color palette featuring soft neutrals, creams, and light blush tones, accented by pops of dark mauve deep burgundy ranunculus and chocolate cosmos, Each bloom was carefully selected to embody the grace and beauty of the occasion. Lauren's bridal bouquet was a whimsical blend of effortless romance— ranunculus, anemone, mauve amnesia roses, quicksand roses, majolica and delicate pops of chocolate cosmos and orlea. The bridesmaid bouquets complemented the bridal bouquet perfectly, with a harmonious blend of blooms and colors.
Instead of a traditional arch, the couple opted for a meadow-inspired half-circle arrangement for the ceremony. Rows of stunning ground arrangements adorned with premium blooms like Playa Blanca roses and velvety Black Beauty roses (a favorite of ours!) lined the aisle, creating an ethereal pathway for the couple to exchange their vows.
Following the ceremony, guests made their way to the reception space, where the magic of the evening continued to unfold. We added pops of blooms to the custom escort card display crafted by Shimmer and Stain, adding an extra layer of elegance to the cocktail hour. The delicate florals served as a beautiful introduction to the evening's festivities, setting the tone for the celebration to come.
Airy centerpieces adorned the banquet tables, featuring a harmonious blend of blooms accented by dusty sage eucalyptus. The rich hues of burgundy velvet napkins and cream + gold place settings added a touch of opulence, perfectly complementing the floral arrangements. The repurposed ceremony arrangements found new life throughout the reception space, adorning the stage where the live band performed and gracing the sweetheart table where Lauren and Scott shared their first meal as newlyweds.
As we reflect on Lauren and Scott's wedding, we are reminded once again of the power of love to inspire and uplift. It was an honor to be a part of their special day, and we wish them a lifetime of happiness, laughter, and endless love.
